Nationals Philanthropies has issued a $50,000 grant to Feed More – the leading hunger relief organization in Central Virginia. The organization reports that the pandemic increased by nearly 50 percent the number of neighbors in the Feed More service area considered food insecure (unsure where the next meal will come from). Funding from the NATS4GOOD Community Response Fund will help enable one of Feed More’s local service agencies to better meet the needs of the food insecure communities it serves in South Richmond through the purchase of a refrigerated van used to secure and transport food safely. Funding will also support an innovative research study that will help Feed More better understand and reach food insecure Latinx populations in the region.
