Nationals Philanthropies has issued a $25,000 grant to the United Planning Organization (UPO). Grant funding from the NATS4GOOD Community Response Fund will help low-income families with their rent and living expenses. Thanks to these funds, D.C. residents can stay in their homes and get back on their feet as UPO helps them seek new opportunities on their journey toward financial stability and wellness. UPO is the nonprofit Community Action Agency for the people of Washington, D.C. and touches the families of 52,000 residents each year. By Uniting People with Opportunities, UPO transforms families and changes the trajectory of their lives for generations. UPO focuses on eradicating poverty, homelessness, unemployment, and under-employment; its programs have become national models for expanding education and giving equal access to justice. These investments in our DC neighbors lead to greater equity as residents lift themselves into the middle class, become self-sufficient, and help their communities thrive.
