DC Central Kitchen was issued a $15,000 grant from the NATS4GOOD Community Response Fund to support its mobile meal distribution program. DC Central Kitchen, in partnership with World Central Kitchen and Dreaming Out Loud, launched the mobile feeding initiative to bring nutritious meals and fresh, local produce directly to children, families, and seniors at 14 high-need locations. DC Central Kitchen, which has distributed over two million meals and more than one million pounds of fresh produce during the COVID-19 pandemic, will share an additional 260,000 meals to the D.C. community in need of food assistance through this initiative. This grant will help bring healthy and dignified food to the area children and seniors who will need it most while financially supporting D.C. food entrepreneurs and restaurants who might otherwise face an existential threat.
